Following its launch on Vodafone last month, the HTC One has landed on pay monthly tariffs from Three, EE, T-Mobile and Orange.

HTC’s latest hero smartphone is currently available for free on Three’s Ultimate Internet 500 for £34 a month and on The One Plan for £36 a month over a two-year term.

The former gets you 500 any-network minutes, while the latter comes with 2,000 minutes and 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes. Both tariffs are also packed with all-you-can-eat data and 5,000 texts.

EE, the UK’s sole 4G network, is offering the One for £46 a month, along with an upfront charge of £29.99 for the phone. In return, you’ll receive unlimited minutes and texts, plus 1GB of data.

The One is also available on EE’s partner networks T-Mobile and Orange on a range of 3G tariffs.

T-Mobile is selling the HTC One on its Full Monty plan at £36 a month and one-off fee of £69.99. This features unlimited internet and texts, 2,000 minutes and unlimited calls to T-Mobile numbers.

Orange, meanwhile, is listing the One on its Works tariffs from £36 a month, plus £49.99 for the phone, which entitles you to unlimited texts, minutes and Wi-Fi, 1GB of 3G data and one free ‘Swapable’ perk every month.

That leaves O2 as the only major network in the UK yet to announce contracts for the HTC One.

Standout features of the handset include a 4.7-inch Super LCD screen with a vivid full HD resolution and 469 ppi density, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and an all-new ‘UltraPixel’ camera.

Sony’s first mid-range 4G smartphone – the Xperia SP – will soon be available through Three, Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse, the vendors’ official websites confirm.

Customers looking to pick up the Xperia SP on pay monthly tariffs can currently register their interest on the network and retailers’ ‘Coming Soon’ pages to be notified when the handset is ready to order.

Powered by Android Jelly Bean, the SP’s standout features include a 4.6-inch 720p HD screen with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, a 1GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and an eight-megapixel camera with an Exmor RS sensor for low-light snapping.

All this is crammed into a precision-crafted aluminium frame, which features an illuminated ‘transparent element’ that you can personalise by colour to alert you of various incoming missives.

Of course, because the SP also comes with 4G LTE support, we reckon there’s a good chance that it should be landing soon on EE’s super-fast network too.

Alas, it doesn’t feature any water or resistant capabilities, which are still the USPs of Sony’s flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z.

Pricing is as-yet unknown, but given the SP’s relatively low-key specs, we think it should be available free on pay monthly tariffs from around £20.

Orange’s free-to-download Libon app has landed on Android, amid increasing competition for marketshare among messaging applications.

The arrival of the app, which offers free calls, instant messaging and visual voicemail and was previously exclusive to the iPhone, on Google’s platform means that users will be able communicate across the two platforms for the first time.

Alongside free HD quality, national and international voice calls between Libon users, of particular appeal is that the visual voicemail aspect of the app that works independently of the phone owner’s carrier.

This feature, which some UK networks still do not offer, lists users’ voicemails on their handset’s display to make getting up to speed with them easier and converts voice messages to text.

Libon head Giles Corbett said: “The launch of Libon on Android was an absolute must.

“It’s overtaken iOS numbers in the smartphone wars and we’re very excited to finally offer something to the thousands of users who have been asking about this.”

The advent of the Android iteration compatible with all kits running version 2.2 (Froyo) or above comes as Libon launches a revamped take on its iPhone incarnation.

Sky Go is expanding onto more Android devices, with news that it’s coming to the Sony Xperia Z, the HTC One and the soon-to-land Samsung Galaxy S4.

Owners of the three flagship smartphones will soon be able to enjoy Sky’s programming on the move, joining a relatively small family of handsets and tablets currently supported by the Sky Go application.

Sky Go became available to select devices powered by Android Jelly Bean in December. However, since then it has been slow to arrive on newer gadgets, such as the Google Nexus 10, for which Sky has been heavily criticised by customers.

Well, fortunately it looks like the Pay TV giant is finally getting its act together. It has already confirmed that the service would be coming to the wider Android ecosystem as the year progresses.

Of course, it also means great news for any of you picking up Samsung’s latest hero kit, which goes on sale on April 27th.

If you haven’t already done so, the S4 is currently on pre-order with Three, O2, Vodafone, EE, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

TalkTalk Mobile will also start taking pre-orders from Monday, while Virgin Media is expected to join the party soon.

Microsoft has released a new 'Switch to Windows Phone' app on Google’s Play Store. And as the name suggests, the aim is simple enough: get Android users to ditch their Google-backed blower for a sparkling new Windows Phone.

The app does this by scanning an Android device’s installed apps and then serving up a percentage of how many of these add-ons are available on Microsoft’s own platform.

The results are all saved to a user’s Microsoft ID. With those app details stashed in the cloud, Windows Phone users can then fire up their new Microsoft-backed blower, tap into a companion app and get downloading the same extras they’ve been using on their Android handset.

Well, that’s the theory anyway.

When the chaps at The Verge gave it a whirl, they found it had the habit of sometimes serving up apps that were similar, rather than the same, on Windows Phone. It’s a small niggle, but one which could leave a number of new users unimpressed.

Either way, it’s a smart approach from the Big M. With Nokia Lumia numbers growing and apps on Microsoft’s platform finally getting up to speed, it’s no wonder it’s keen to try and snag users from the world’s favourite mobile operating system.
